How to configure the SMS channel

In Vero Connect, "channels" are used to configure the connection or provider that will be used to send your messages to a given endpoint. Channels are intentionally flexible and designed to support any message type, from well-known platforms and products to custom channels.

Currently, Vero Connect supports email and SMS channels (more coming soon!)

Add an SMS channel

Click Channels then, under the SMS heading, select Add next to the channel provider you want to configure.

Add SMS channel provider

Give your new channel a name, add the required API keys (or other authorization credentials) and select Save.

Your channel is now available to select when creating a Campaign.

Twilio

Before integrating Twilio with Vero Connect, ensure you have a Twilio account. If not, you can create one at Twilio's website.

Steps to Set Up the Messaging Service:

1. Log in to Twilio Access your Twilio Console using your credentials.

2. Create a Messaging Service

  • Navigate to the Messaging Services section in the Twilio Console.
  • Click on Create Messaging Service.
  • Provide a descriptive name for your service (e.g., "Vero SMS Service").
  • Choose the Use Case that best fits your needs, such as Notifications or Marketing.
  • Click Create Messaging Service to proceed.

3. Add a Phone Number to the Messaging Service

  • Within your newly created Messaging Service, go to the Sender Pool tab.
  • Click on Add Senders and select Phone Numbers.
  • Choose an existing Twilio phone number or purchase a new one to associate with this service.

4. Configure Integration with Vero Connect

  • In Vero Connect, navigate to the Channels section.
  • Under the SMS heading, select Add next to Twilio.
  • Enter your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token (found in your Twilio Console's Account Info section).
  • Once entered, Vero will retrieve and display the Messaging Services you've set up in Twilio.
  • Select the appropriate Messaging Service from the dropdown menu.
  • Click Save to finalize the integration.

By following these steps, your Twilio Messaging Service will be properly configured and integrated with Vero Connect, enabling you to manage and send SMS campaigns efficiently.

You can learn where to find your Account SID and "Auth Token" in Twilio's help documentation.

Add Twilio SMS channel provider

Once you've added your Account SID and Auth Token, Vero will query Twilio to find the phone numbers ("Services") that you have configured. These will be presented in a dropdown.

Each Twilio channel that you configure will link to one phone number. If you want to use multiple phone numbers for your campaigns you can add multiple Twilio channel configurations.

Setting a default channel

When creating a new campaign Vero will default to a specific channel. You can set the default channel by choosing Mark as Default within the Channels menu.
