Using a Cloud Segment to create your audience

Vero 2.0 now allows you to select and use your existing segments, called "Cloud Segments," significantly enhancing your ability to send campaigns to your existing customer base.

For any segment created in Vero 1.0 (previously known as Cloud), you can select the segment, import it into your campaign's audience, and send to the customers in that segment.

To use your segments in Vero 2.0, follow these steps:

  1. In a campaign, navigate to the 'audience' section and select 'Cloud segment' from the data sources area. audience-options If you can’t see the ‘Cloud segment’ option, you will need to switch to Vero 2.0 from a live Vero 1.0 project. To use this feature, you must have access to Vero 1.0 - please email us for more information and to gain access.
  2. Choose an existing segment from the 'Select a segment' dropdown and click 'Import Segment'. cloud-segment-selection When you import your audience:
    • All segment data remains stored in the Cloud project; no data is moved.
    • Your selected segment refreshes before being added to your campaign audience.
    • The subscription status for any customer added to Vero 2.0 appears on the /subscriptions page.
    • The current subscription status from your Cloud project is honored.
    • If a customer unsubscribes after being added to an audience but before the campaign is sent, they won't receive the message.
  3. The audience preview displays customers from the segment and their data. cloud-audience From here, you can:
    • Refresh the segment to retrieve an updated list of customers for your audience.
    • Remove the audience if you want to switch to another type.
    • View your segment, which opens it in the Vero 1.0 interface. Note that Cloud segments can only be edited and created in Vero 1.0.
  4. You can now send the campaign to this segment of recipients.

Refresh at Send Time Option

When using a Cloud segment in Vero 2.0, the 'Refresh at send time' option is enabled by default for the audience. This mirrors the behavior in Vero 1.0, where segments are always refreshed before sending a campaign. refresh at send time To ensure your audiences are as current as possible, it's best to keep this option checked. However, be aware that "refreshing at send time" may delay your campaign's send time until the segment refresh is complete.

If you're sending to a large segment that takes several minutes to refresh, you can disable the "refresh at send time" option. This prevents the segment from being refreshed before sending, ensuring your campaign goes out at the exact time you specify.
