System segments

Vero includes several read-only system segments that are automatically available in every account. These segments provide pre-built audiences for common use cases and cannot be edited or deleted.

Available system segments

All Push Customers

This segment includes all profiles that have at least one iOS or Android device token registered. Use this segment when you want to send push notifications to anyone who has the capability to receive them, regardless of their device type.

Common use cases:

  • Broadcasting announcements to all mobile app users
  • Analyzing your total push-enabled audience size
  • Filtering out push users from other segments

All iOS Customers

This segment includes all profiles that have at least one iOS device token registered. Use this segment when you need to target only iPhone or iPad users, such as when promoting iOS-specific features or handling platform-specific updates.

Common use cases:

  • Announcing iOS app updates or new features
  • Promoting App Store reviews
  • Targeting campaigns for iOS-exclusive functionality

All Android Customers

This segment includes all profiles that have at least one Android device token registered. Use this segment when you need to target only Android device users, such as when promoting Android-specific features or handling platform-specific updates.

Common use cases:

  • Announcing Android app updates or new features
  • Promoting Google Play Store reviews
  • Targeting campaigns for Android-exclusive functionality

Unmessageable Customers

This segment includes all profiles that have either unsubscribed from your communications or have hard bounced. These users cannot receive messages from you and are automatically excluded from campaigns.

Common use cases:

  • Analyzing churn and unsubscribe rates
  • Identifying profiles to exclude from audience counts
  • Understanding the size of your unreachable audience

Note: Vero automatically excludes unmanageable users from campaign sends, so you typically don't need to manually exclude this segment. However, it's useful for reporting and analysis and for list cleaning (deleting unsubscribed users info)

How to use system segments

You can use system segments anywhere you would use custom segments: as target audiences in campaigns, as conditions when building custom segments (e.g., "VIP users with push enabled"), or in workflow branch logic to route users based on their capabilities or subscription status.

Note: System segments can also be used in conjunction with the delete users feature to remove specific groups of profiles from your account, such as cleaning up unsubscribed or hard bounced users. Learn more

Limitations

System segments have the following restrictions:

  • Read-only – You cannot edit the conditions or logic of system segments
  • Cannot be deleted – System segments are permanent and available to all users in your workspace
  • Cannot be archived – System segments always appear in your segments list
  • Fixed naming – You cannot rename system segments

These limitations ensure system segments remain consistent and reliable across your entire workspace.
